Dear
Parents:
It is hard to believe that the holiday season is already
here. We have had many success stories here at Scott
High School this year. We are in constant search of new
strategies that will provide relevant 21st Century
skills to all of our students.
A very important date is approaching quickly for our
Senior Class and their parents. Senior orientation is
scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, 20089 at 6:00 PM in
the Media Center. Letters will be sent from the West
Virginia Department of Education notifying parents of
this event. We will have specialists that will cover all
aspects of financial aid and tasks that need to be
accomplished now in order to take full advantage of
state and federal programs that provide funds for
college. During the actual school day on December 15th,
seniors will be called out to specific computer labs in
order to complete information that will enable them to
be eligible for financial aid. I will send out a “School
Messenger” reminder to all parents of the Class of 2010
a few days prior to the meeting.
I hope that all parents are utilizing the Edline tool
for tracking the academic progress of their sons and
daughters. Please remember that these grades are being
sent automatically every Monday. Be sure to select the
tab that says “Private Reports” in order to access the
most recent updates from our staff.
As we get closer to this special time of the year that
is traditionally spent with family and friends, I would
hope that we all can reflect on what is important and
the many things that we should be thankful for. Please
remember that my door is always open to discuss how our
school can better serve our students and contribute to
our community. I hope that this holiday season will be
truly joyful for you and your family.
Sincerely,
Doug Cox
